Your personal information is accessible only by authorized staff and volunteers.  All Waterkeeper agents with access to personal information obtained on the Waterkeeper website are also bound to adhere to this policy.

When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. Waterkeeper respects your privacy and does not provide or sell any personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

Personal Information that Waterkeeper May Collect, Use, and Share

Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper collects the following types of personal information: names, postal and e-mail addresses, phone and facsimile numbers and billing information.

When we do collect personally identifiable information, it is always voluntarily submitted by you when you register for an event or send back a direct mail reply device. This information collected is used to send our users email alerts, reminders and other information we think will be of interest. If you would like to be removed from our mailing lists, you can unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe link on any email you receive from us.  You can opt-out of direct mail by indicating so on any reply device sent to you or by sending an email to info@bnwaterkeeper.org.

We may also monitor and track information such as website and direct mail response patterns. We compile this information into a statistical aggregate, which we use, together with your personal information, for internal business and administrative purposes including improving our website, our operations and our customer service.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to ship an order.

Purchases Made from the Website

We request information from you on our order form. To buy from us, you must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we’ll use this information to contact you.

We use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services.
