DESCRIPTION:The Ujima Theater Company will perform a show that looks at a family dealing with the water crisis in Flint\, Michigan. It will be held during the month of May. \n\nBuffalo Niagara Waterkeeper is involved with this production\, which is called “Cullud Wattah” by Erika Dickerson-Despenza. The show is directed by Curtis Lovell. \nThe synopsis is “It’s been 936 days since Flint has had clean water. Marion\, a third-generation General Motors line worker\, worries over impending layoffs while struggling to fight the poison that floods her home – and her family’s bodies. When her sister\, Ainee\, seeks restitution for lead poisoning\, secrets bubble to the surface\, threatening their family and the entire city of Flint. ‘Cullud Wattah\,’ dives deep into how we make the best choices for our families’ future when there are no real and present options.” \n \nShowtimes are on the weekends from May 5 to May 21. The Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday shows are at 4 p.m. Tickets are $35 general admission\, $25 seniors and $15 students and veterans.
