SUMMARY:Upper Wetland Goose Fence Installation
DESCRIPTION:Waterkeeper needs your help to install a goose fence around the perimeter of a recently completed wetland restoration project in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Volunteers will work in groups of two to install 3-foot tall fence posts with 3-pound hammers. Following post installation\, volunteers will work together to thread a thin rope through pre-drilled holes in the posts. \nClick below to learn more and sign up for this event. \nRegister for this Restore Corps Event\nHeavy Canada Goose presence has placed extreme pressure on the plant life in the project area\, making plant establishment nearly impossible. The geese are also contributing unhealthy amounts of phosphorus to this small water body through their droppings\, which if left unaddressed will eventually lead to impaired water quality and potentially Harmful Algal Blooms. \nRAIN DATE: In anticipation of inclement weather\, we’ve reserved a rain date of Saturday\, April 13th. 10am – 12pm. We will keep you updated as we get closer to the event date. If you have any questions please contact Brittni Anderson – Volunteer Coordinator at banderson@bnwaterkeeper.org \nARRIVAL / PARKING: Volunteers can enter through either of the Forest Lawn entrances off Main Street or Delaware Ave. There are several parking spaces adjacent to the project area and any spill over can park along the cemetery road. \nDelaware entrance is here \nMain Street entrance is here \nParking/meeting area is here
