2013 Results

The Citizen Action Team completed our third season of monitoring for Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria at three public access sites in the Upper Watershed of the Buffalo River.  The sites were Hunter’s Creek Park on Hunter Creek, Elma Centennial Park on Buffalo Creek and Burchfield Nature and Art Center on Buffalo Creek.  The sampling was administered under the Buffalo River RAP and was conducted by Riverwatch Program Coordinator Chris Murawski.  All samples were analyzed by Erie County Public Health Department Lab and were collected under an USEPA approved Quality Assurance Project Plan.  Results are in tabular and graphical form below.

Individual Site Results

2011 Results

In the summer of 2011, Buffalo Niagara WATERKEEPER monitored 3 public access sites in the Buffalo River watershed for Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria.  The sites were Hunters Creek Park on Hunter Creek, Elma Centennial Park on Buffalo Creek, and Burchfield Nature and Art Center on Buffalo Creek.  The sampling was conducted by Chris Murawski, the coordinator of the Riverwatch Water Quality Monitoring Program.  The results from the sampling are shown below.
