Join Erie County and BWELL for a Birds on the Niagara event at Red Jacket Riverfront Natural Habitat Park.
Through the Buffalo River AOC habitat restoration efforts, this once industrialized area has become a hotspots for birds and can claim the highest diversity of birds along the Buffalo River. This event is geared towards beginners and we will hope to see common and hooded mergansers.
Meeting Location: Foot of Smith St.
Duration: 1-1.5 hours
Elevation: Mostly flat with a slight incline on a grassy trail
Surface Description: Mix of paved roads, grassy areas, and riparian trails; high possibility of ice/snow/mud
Equipment Needed: Sturdy boots, dress for the weather. Bring binoculars!
Other: Dog friendly (on a leash), not stroller or wheelchair accessible
