Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper trains and educates the community in environmental science, environmental justice, and Stewardship while connecting people to water, creating a new generation of guardians working to improve water quality and create equitable public access.

School Programs & Education Resources

Bring our local waterways to your students! Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper can teach a variety of lessons in the classroom, in the field, or virtually to strengthen the connection and awareness of waterway resources and issues. Options include: assemblies, interactive lessons, formal presentations, field trips.

Water Academy

Water Academy is a place-based college-level course available to students and community members to explore environmental issues and proactive solutions throughout the Niagara River Watershed.

Young Environmental Leaders Program (YELP)

Through our Young Environmental Leaders Program we work with Buffalo and Niagara County high school teachers and their students in an immersive education and mentoring program.

Custom Programs

If our Public Programs do not fit your groups’ schedule or programmatic needs, Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper Custom Programs may be right for you! This is a great option for conference groups, work events, and trainings. Popular choices are custom tours and stewardship events.
