Environmental Justice Impacts of Plastic Pollution
Several national organizations are hosting a free webinar called “The Environmental Justice Impacts of Plastic Pollution” on June 27. It will feature a panel of speakers from government, academia and the private sector exploring the environmental justice implications of continued production and disposal of plastics.
The event description states that plastic pollution is a global environmental problem with a disproportionate impact on marginalized communities and other vulnerable groups. The Environmental Law Institute, ELI’s Women in Environmental Law & Leadership (WELL) initiative, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and WilmerHale will host a panel to consider this issue. The panel will also address key domestic and international policy efforts, including the recently released report of The Minderoo-Monaco Commission on Plastics and Human Health.
This event will be held in person at the Washington DC offices of WilmerHale and streamed live via webinar.
