Thanks to our RestoreCorps volunteers for their efforts on Unity Island on Nov. 8. We had around 50 people working to plant trees and shrubs at the northern tip of the island. The volunteers helped get 20 trees in the ground and over 200 plants that will help protect the shoreline.

This would not be possible if it were not for partnerships like the one Waterkeeper Alliance has with HSBC. We’re always impressed by what can get done in a short period of time, with the help of our dedicated volunteers and partners. Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper looks forward to other stewardship events together!

We’d also like to thank two of our Volunteer Ambassadors who helped ensure the event ran smoothly. Timm Otterson and Anna Castonguay assisted volunteers with their plantings, and made sure they had everything the group needed for a successful event!
