RFP for Professional Design Services: Buffalo Blueway Site Enhancements at Seneca Bluffs Natural Habitat Park

Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper (BNW) is a community-based, not-for-profit organization that leads regional efforts to safeguard water resources for present and future generations and connects people to the water through education, recreation, and preservation. BNW received funding from New York State’s Empire State Development (ESD) to develop a system of water trails and water-based public access sites throughout Buffalo, New York called the ‘Buffalo Blueway’.

BNW is seeking to retain a Consultant, or team of Consultants (“Consultant”) to provide professional design services to upgrade the existing public access point to the Buffalo River at the Seneca Bluffs Natural Habitat Park (Project) located at 1670 Seneca St, Buffalo, NY 14210. The scope of work will include site analysis, planning, design, construction bidding, and construction contract administration.

This project has a goal of 30% inclusion of New York State certified Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) and MWBE entities are encouraged to apply. BNW further encourages Consultants to include MWBE entities on their project teams at the same 30% goal. Consultants must utilize and document their Good Faith Efforts to retain MWBE entities as required by 5 NYCRR 142.8.

All work performed for BNW must be accomplished with the protection of water resources and the environment in mind.
