Unity Island Tree & Shrub Planting 2025

Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper is seeking volunteers to help revitalize an area along the Niagara River at Unity Island Park. This event is Saturday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

During this two-and-a-half-hour event, volunteers will install approximately 20 container trees and up to 180 container shrubs within a small restoration area at Unity Island Park. These plants come in small containers, and will be installed in groups of 3-4 volunteers using shovels, and a small array of hand tools. Volunteers will work to unload, transport, and install the plants throughout the site. Children under the age of 18 are welcome to attend the event as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
