We put out the call for help with a planting at Forest Lawn on Sept. 23 and the support was fantastic. So many volunteers came out and helped us plant 120 rock socks along the shores of Scajaquada Creek.

This work both beautifies the cemetery and increases shoreline habitat for wildlife. Having the volunteer support also made for an easy day – as easy as work can be when moving around nearly 50 pound rocks with plants growing on them to place in the water.

Thanks again to our volunteers for the help. And learn about our living shorelines initiative here.
